Blade&Soul at Tencent media conference

Blade&Soul decorated the final stage of Tencent media conference on the 22nd of March. Ncsoft announced the test schedule for China.

Jae-Hyun Bae, The Producer of Blade&Soul, said “Personally I really want to make the game success in China. The circumstances and the conditions is better, so I believe the game could be successful this time.” He challenged Chinese market with Lineage and Aion, but both games didn’t succeed as much as he expected.

He has been managing the team for abroad separated from the rest of teams. The abroad team is not small in scale at all as well. As a result, Blade&Soul will have CBT in China during August.

He added “China is different in scale. They don’t separate CBT and OBT. The test for August will be more like FGT(Focused Group Test) with a few thousand users.”

He had two interviews at the event. The one for Korean media and the other for Chinese media. Each country’s media was busy to ask the services of the other country. However, He said “Users in China and korea are not different much. There might be the differences among generations, but no differences on nationality.”

He thinks the differences on preferable contents among countries are not about cultures and graphics, but more about the system itself. For example, Korean users are not much interested in Achievement System, but North American users take care about it a bit and Chinese users are mad at it.

Martial Arts are originated from China. Do Chinese gamers think the game as a challenge to Chinese tradition because the theme of Blade&Soul is based on Martial Arts in Korea? He does not think so. He believes that the martial arts in Blade&Soul are just other kinds of Martial arts to Chinese users’ point of view.

He also thinks that there are almost no differences between Korea and China from the technical point of view. He said “Pixar exists in China. Most visual arts staffs in Hollywood are Chinese. Therefore, most merits that Korean online games have are diminishing. Korea started the business a few years ahead of China and the gap between them is getting closer.”

At the end of the interview, he said “I just want to present the game as quickly as possible.

Spotlights the Human Race for Lime Odyssey

Aeria Games, a leading global publisher of free-to-play online games, today revealed new screenshots and the opening cinematic for the Human race, one of the three playable races in Lime Odyssey: The Chronicles of Orta, its highly-anticipated 3D massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG).   Lime Odyssey is currently in production and will be published in North America by Aeria Games in 2012.

The Humans in Lime Odyssey begin their journey in Blue Coral, a thriving land abundant with vibrant plants and sea life.  While home to many welcoming animals, the forest and beach are inhabited by some that are hostile to the humans.  Venturing too far to the north will lead players into Baron Northpallor’s Manor, a less than hospitable mansion. Diving into the depths of the Beren Sea, players will discover a plentiful bounty of treasure and fearsome creatures guarding it.

Before Lime entered the world once again, Humans made their living on the open sea. Their lives were not easy, nor were the seas kind, but humanity struggled on. Five hundred years ago, a broken and battered ship was forced to make harbor in a land filled with coral. The proud ship Green Leaf ran aground and sunk below the waves, and the humans that emerged fared little better than their vessel. Thin and weak from lack of food, they carried their children onto the shore and determined that this land should now be their home.

Within the forest, the surviving crew of the Green Leaf built a thriving community based around the coral of the area. They named their town Blue Coral, and many of the world’s greatest craftsmen came from this small coastal area. Young humans still cannot escape the adventurous spirit of their ancestors, and many have left home to seek out the Goddess’ Lime.

The vast continent of Orta is home to a diverse collection of races and tribes. Players can choose from a variety of customization options to design their ideal character – create a bold young Human thief, a battle-hardened Turga, or a diminutive Muris – the choice is theirs! Each race begins their quest in a unique starting location.

Lime Odyssey: The Chronicles of Orta will be free to download and free to play. Interested players can learn more about Lime Odyssey and sign up to participate in the upcoming closed beta test at:http://limeodyssey.aeriagames.com.

Aika Releases Final Chapter in Its Epic II Saga Hestia

March 8th, 2012 Today marks the beginnings of righteous conquest as Aika releases the finale to its Epic II saga: Hestia.  Two new level 80 raids await the best Aitan warriors seeking to take back a now corrupted land, full of formidable monsters and equally powerful items.

Combatants will prepare for the challenges ahead in the city of Drago, Hestia’s primary outpost built within the coiled body of a sleeping dragon.  There squads of players will set out on missions to reclaim the holy cities of Aquados and Tyriantor, now tainted by the Zereca in their ever expanding quest to breed corruption.  Those top level Aitan ready to face these new obstacles will encounter level 80 beasts and the most vicious bosses yet.

Once serving as an ancient water system for the Aitan cities in the Hestia region, the Aquados catacombs are now home to the water dragon Reagor and the denizens he corrupted.  Twenty-four Aitan must band together to destroy 6 new bosses and their minions in order to prevent their imminent invasion on Drago.  If they succeed treasures such as level 80 armor sets can be recovered.

More valuable however is Tyriantor, holy crypt for fallen warriors of old.  The undead dragon Dariadra serves as master of this keep, reanimating once holy soldiers into servants for his evil plans.  Aitan will have to form groups of 12 in their mission to purify these once sacred grounds and recover the lost artifacts and light tokens that await them.

Learn more about these new updates and several exciting events to come on the official Aika website at http://aika.gpotato.com/!
